Thank you for making a page like this. I went to school with Phil's children, Sean and Birgen, and knew her quite well, I was her older mentor. I think they would be really touched to know that thousands of people admired and respected their parents that they never had enough time to properly know. So thank you.
It's seldom that I mourn for people that I don't know, particularly someone that I have never met. There are three people at most, whose deaths have left the common public wondering what they will do now?Eric Morcambe, Bill Hicks and now also Phil Hartman. I honestly feel that without these people, the youth of today will have 3 smiles less...I miss you Phil, we all will.
I'll never forget the day he died and the Newsradio episode where the cast was bidding him farewell. I remember sitting there thinking that those were real tears that the cast was crying. I cried myself. He was definitely something special. What an amazing talent. I bet Phil and Frank Sinatra are up in Heaven laughing over Phil's hilarious Sinatra impression. We love you Phil and miss you...
phil.....thank you so much for giving the world the gift of your comedic genius. every time i watch the simpsons i can't help but hope to hear you saying "you may remember me from such......," even though i know that it's not going to happen. we do remember you, though, and not just for your films, but for your smile and the laughter that you gave to all of us every time we watched newsradio, snl, the simpsons, or peewee. thank you so much. i know you're still keeping the laughter going wherever you are. peace.
In spite of these difficult days here in Argentina, to watch Phil's playing in SNL & NEWSRADIO episodes is to enjoy and to forget all the bad things for a while. Thanks Phil for sharing your gift with all the world. I am sure now you are playing your best in heaven making God laugh.
i miss phil and his performances on the simpsons greatly. he always could make me laugh and when i want to laugh like i used to i find myself watching old snl, simpsons, and newsradio episodes. thank you to all of you who've posted downloadable quotes on this site and on kazaa. if anyone wants to see more of phil as he is himself, feel free to download phil on dennis miller live, topic: immigration. r.i.p. phil, r.i.p.
I was watching the best of SNL. I thought of Phil and how he made me laugh. It is a shame what people do in this world. I still do not understand what makes people do the things they do.AT
I really appreciate everyting that Phil contributed to SNL and movies. Everytime I see him on SNL re-runs I feel badly about his tragic death but I also get a better sweet feeling too when I rember how funny he was. Thank you Phil Hartman for everything and God bless you. You will never be fogotten.
Phil Hartman was kind and funny. I am so grateful that he touched so many people. May he rest in peace.

Phil was one of the greatest and most versatile comedians of all time. He was my favourite SNL cast member along with Dana Carvey, and his work on NewsRadio was amazingly perfect. Before his untimely death, I only knew him by name from the Simpsons credits (I'm from Argentina, so his characters were dubbed in Spanish). Thanks to the net I finally can hear him play Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure. Since mid 99 I've been watching almost all of his work on SNL and recently I finished watching all except one of his NewsRadio episodes. He has left a terrific body of work which deserves more recognition. Phil, thanks for the smiles. I love you, I miss you, and I know that you are making people laugh in Paradise.Pablo

I should have included Dan Castellaneta with Hank Azaria as the best current living voice-men.

Phil Hartman was, by far, the best. On SNL, He was the most versatile, talented and charismatic actor they had. For the 8 years He was on that show, SNL could not be beat. He was a cast member at a time when the comedy rivaled that of the first year cast. The shows were new, refreshing and second to none. Phil Hartman was also a stand out voice-man. It would be a stretch to say he was as great as the late Mel Blanc, but Phil was definitely one of the best. Hank Azaria comes to mind as the best current voice-man alive. It is hard to beleive that Phil has been gone almost 4 years. Earlier tonight I was fortunate to see an old Dennis Miller show episode where Phil Hartman was the guest. Besides being funny, Phil showed the incredible inteligence he possessed, while at the same time being honest, friendly and truly a likeable person. I was sad upon hearing of his death and still get somewhat depressed seeing old footage of Phil. I often wonder who will be the next beloved star we will loose.Oh well, Phil, if you can read this, I want to thank you for the years of laughter, happiness and inspiration. Thanks Phil.
I watched SNL to see him work, the Simpsons to hear him work, I went to the movies he was in and watched Newsradio for him...he was one funny funny man and I'll never know him personally but I still miss him like a member of my family. Isn't that weird? Honest to God though...I truly miss his contribution to my life. Rest and I hope you know you are missed by someone whom you never knew.

A little late, I guess. But I've been perusing some SNL footage lately, and I'm a little more than pissed that I can't find much Hartman material. Hartman was funny for sure, but I think he was so good that just looking at his face made me laugh. It didn't matter what skit he was in, (or episode), but dude made it right. Where have you gone Phil DiMaggio....

I saw the Phil Hartman farewell episode of News Radio for the first time yesterday on a rerun on A&E. I'd missed the original airing due to a work schedule, and seeing it made me realize once again what a tremendous hole his death has left behind. I always looked forward to seeing anything he was in, regardless of what it was, simply because it was him. I especially miss Troy McLure and Lionel Hutz in the Simpsons. It's just not the same without him. Comedy Central showed one of the SNL episodes with Phil's "Anal Retentive Chef", and it was just priceless because nobody else could have done it. His delivery was incredible. A huge loss to the entertainment world.
I, once again today, saw the farewell to Phil episode on "News Radio". It brought back all the sorrow. You could really see the grief in his co-stars. A moving show!
Phil Hartman was a great man. I still watch news Radio and many of his movies. Not just to pay tribute to him, but to enjoy his gift, the love that he gave to the world when he came into the stage with his cool and absolutely great humor! He was a great man, and I wished many times that he didn't die. He was a great man, and he will never be forgotten. He always made a great movie and a great television show, when he died, Newsradio lost a lot, I mean, It was very funny still, but not as funny as when Phil Hartman used to spit tobacco into a coffe mug, or when he trained a kid to act like him and so on. I think I had to post a message here because I owe it to the man, and we'll always be in his debt for he would have been without a doubt in my mind the next great actor of television! I raise my glass to you, Phil Hartman. God bless your soul!God bless you! From the bottom of my heart, God bless you for you were such a beautiful person!
I stumbled upon this site while doing a research assignment on a Canadian "Hero". Phil acted as this while providing laughter to many people all across the world. We'll Miss ya Phil...
Never did I see SNL or the Simpsons, living in England. There are those few in 'the industry' who make us laugh and whose names we never know, but whose faces and voices we remember for a long time after,my sorrow for his friends and family, i for one shall miss his humour and warmth.

God, I sure miss him. He was one of the "Great Ones". I'll always cherish the memory of seeing him in my livingroom on Saturday Night Live.
I didn't know who Phil Hartman was until I saw him on NewsRadio, and then discovered that he was the guy that had made me laugh on Jingle All The Way and other movies. He was such a great guy, and I know all of us miss him very much. However, I'm sure he is in a better place, and he certainly knows how much we will always appreciate him.
Phil Hartman, you had a comedy talent like no other. You were an extremely intelligent and versatile individual. Over 3 & 1/2 years later, I still mourn your passing. This world has indeed lost a true legend.
I was at work when I saw the news come on that someone famous died. When I saw it was Phil I cried. I loved watching everything he did.He was my favorite and I miss seeing him terribly.senseless.I will always remember him. God Bless.

I haven't seen a lot of Mr. Hartman's work, but from the first timehe made me laugh I was hooked on him. His wisdom in comedy will be miss, well at least from me.
Haven't visited in a while, so I wanted to check the place out, and to drop a line and say I haven't forgotten.

i just came from watching an episode and news radio and I have to say its still my favorite show after all this time. The character of phil Hartman's character was genius. To see someone of his caliber die so quickly and in such a tragic way is devastating. i have wanted to be a comedian since I was 12 and guys like Phil hartman helped me to determine my final decision when it actually counted in high school. There isn't a week that goes by where i don't think of something funny he said from one of his movies or shows. He was one of the best. But now he's in heaven telling jokes to the best audience of them all. God bless you phil hartman and the laughter you brought to so many lives, especially my own
Well what can I say. I didn't know him until the last months. With the beginning of showing News Radio in my country I had the chance to watch such a big star like him.I watch every wednesday News Radio and last week Bill was not there.Although he passed away more than two years ago his passing made me feel bad.

I know someone who has met Phil. She was going into an ice cream store, and she bumped right into him. He says, "Oh, hello." She was so starstuck, she put her ice cream in her purse! She says "Oh my goodness! Sorry!" Then she looked around and said, "I can't find my ice cream." And he says, "Maybe cause you put it in your purse." true story i swear.

I was, and am still a fan of Phil's, I love his Simpson"s Impersonations and thought that he was really sexy as well. I wish that he was not taken from us at such a young and vibrant age, may God be with you forever,

Even though i'm a little young, doesn't mean i don't have feelings for people i don't know. The day i heard about PHIL HARTMAN is the day i realized that comedy is everything, the best cure for sadness, loneliness, or just plain boredom is comedy. I think of PHIL HARTMAN as a hero, and a loving, giving, caring, man. So, PHIL, MR. HARTMAN, where ever you are, what ever your doing, remember we still love and think of you every day.

Dear Phil,Although you will never have the opportunity to read this, I would like to thank you for everything I have learned from you. I grew up obsessed with SNL, drawing out of my love for it a desire to become a performer. I studied you, Jan Hooks, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray, Jon Lovitz, Nora Dunn, and Dana Carvey obsessively. I tried to anylize each and every detailed nuance of your performances, so that I could gleam what made it funny and apply it to myself. I owe everything I am as a performer to the 7 of you, saldy only five of which are still alive. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing I want to thank you for pulling me out of the constant misery and abuse that I suffered as a child with your brilliance, and thank you for teaching me that comedy can overcome all pain. I love you and I miss you.
Phil never failed to put a smile on my face, he was one of a kind. It's been more than 3 years now and I still miss him. Man, that guy could make me laugh.

I don't think i have ever taken a celebrity's death as hard as Mr. Hartman's. I am a big fan of snl, the simpsons and newsradio, and he was so funny on all of them. And so here it is more than 3 years after he passed on, and i still think about that man, his prestigous voice, adn how i could always count on him to make me laugh. thank you Phil wherever you are.

Even though he has been gone for over 2 years now, he will always be missed. I love watching the reruns of Newsradio with him. He was a comic genius.
Devastated, I am utterly devastated. To think that he is already gone for more than 3 years and I have found out about his demise just a couple of minutes ago! I know Phil from his voice magic he did in the Simpsons. I will miss him forever. Rest in peace.

Phil, we miss you, we love you, and we will always remember you.
One thing I forgot to add in my last message was that my birthday, is May 28th. The day seems to have more significant meaning now when I think about how funny the man was, and how tragically his life was ended, on the anniversary that mine began. I guess we have a day to share. :(

As a fellow Canadian from Ontario, I always felt proud when I turned on NBC and saw Phil, doing one of his hilarious characters on Saturday Night Live. He had a special way of brining his characters to life, and Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure to this day are my favorite characters on The Simpsons. It's sad that now when I hear that great voice, bringing them to life, I will have to stop and mourn the loss of a great comedian, Canadian, and human being. Rest In Peace, Phil...

No one made me laugh so hard and frequent as did Phil Hartman. His death is a loss to the entire world. Phil, sir, you are a King!
Even though several years have passed since his tragic death, I still lament Phil Hatman's passing every time I hear "I'm Troy McClure, you might remember me from...". He was truly a comic genius,
I always felt there was something very spiritual about Phil, and yet because he doesn't go around spouting all his beliefs and because he was just so self-posessed, one never knew for sure. I just saw an old interview this weekend on some show where the reporter asked how he stays so centered and sane in the midst of the chaos of show business, etc. and he said "Believe it or not, right before I go on stage or before the camera for a scene I go to a quiet place and say the Lord's Prayer. It just seems to take all the burden off of me and puts it on a much more powerful source." I sat there watching, waiting for the punch line - and there was none. He smiled sweetly and the interviewer thanked him. Thank YOU, Phil and our loss is the Lord's gain.
I am 13 and when Phil Hartman died I hardly knew who he was. I just knew him a tad because I'm a huge SNL fan. But over the years Newsradio became my favorite sitcom and I started watching older SNL episodes. And I have realized what a great and talented man he is and how tragic his early death was. I may not know too much cuz I'm only 13, but I'm sure it's save to say, if everyone was more like Phil, the world would be a much greater place. He's the greatest actor ever, and quite possibly the greatest man.
I'm from São Paulo, Brasil. I'm a big Phil Hartman fan for a few years only n' I was devastated when I knew what happened to him - but the happiness n' joy he brings to me everyday - n' to a lot of other people at this big world - this cannot be erased from this planet!Hope you're doin just fine wherever you're Phil n' thanks for your incredible job!Hope you're makin ' a lot o' people laugh where you're at now!Ed
I'm convinced that Jack Maxwell, host of MGM Television's NATIONAL ENQUIRER UNCOVERED show, is Phil Hartman's brother. He has the same mouth, facial structure, and voice. I wish he would do a Simpsons cameo since the voice is identical.

I think that the number of entries on this page after over 3 years since Phil Hartman's death shows how he's touched the lives of so many people. I've always loved his work, and I am so thankful that we can still see him on Newsradio and SNL, and hear him on the Simpsons. Thank you for so many laughs, Phil. I miss you all the time :) Gazziza!

Each year I remember the senseless and tragic loss of Phil Hartman, and wonder why the entertainment industry seems to have completely forgotten about him. SNL ran a special last Saturday night for Chris Farley and I thought how ironic it was that SNL paid tribute to another dead comedian mere days before the anniversary of the death of one of the greatest comedic talents this world has ever known. Rest in peace, Phil. I'll never forget you -- Douglas Reedy, Columbus OH

I'm back again, cause today's the day. I'm gonna watch tonight's news radio episode, and I'll probably cry. Every day when I see News Radio or Simpsons I realize how much the world misses the funniest man evr SALUT!
